The tourist strip of “Lower Broad” along Broadway and up
2nd ave. downtown provides a gauntlet of
honky tonks, neon lights,
live country acts, and western wear shops that most visitors will
venture through. However, Nashville is a wonderful place for all kind of
music - not just country!

NashTrash Tours has been
in operation since 1997. This tour is not
primarily historical, although a few sights
are pointed out along a tour route that
includes downtown Nashville and a bit of the
Music Row area. This tour is more about
comedy, and consists mainly of stories about
the scandals endured by many country music
legends.

There are numerous country-music themed shops along lower
Broadway in the tourist district, including the renouned
Ernest Tubb Record Shop. This longtime city landmark is world famous for
its huge selection of country albums, old, new and rare. Fans of Jack
Daniels and John Deere will find plenty of products and other items such as
local sauces and country music items downtown at the
Market Street Mercantile.

Whether you’re a music lover, a
history buff, or an art snob, Nashville’s
collection of fine museums likely has something
that will catch your eye. The
Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on 5th
Ave. is the destination for diehard country
devotees and casual fans of the genre alike,
and—as the world’s largest music museum. . .

In the cradle of country music, the
Grand Ole Opry has been the biggest show in town for over 80 years. A
weekly showcase for the brightest stars and most promising up-and-comers of
country, the Opry still goes on the air every Saturday night, broadcast live
from the 4400-seat Grand Ole Opry House.
